Review on 📀 Apiker External DVD Drive: USB3.0 CD DVD +/-RW Burner with SD Slot, Type C Cord, Carrying Case - Multi-Functional for Laptop, PC & Mac by John Hill

UPDATE 5/23/2021 I changed my computer system and no longer have an internal DVD drive so I ordered another one of these. The first one plays my DVDs fine, but the replacement gives errors. I have requested a replacement and I hope the replacement works properly. I've seen CD/DVD players/writers with hard cords lately and didn't want to buy them because no one on the ad says how long the cord is. Now I have to wait for the extension cord and HOPE it works with this thing; if not i will send it back. It looks solid enough to fit in my computer case as a second CD/DVD burner, so it might be ok. Update 8/3/2021: Please see the conflicting information below: Helpful Hints :-> External DVD/CD drive does not support TV, Car Player, Tablet, Chromebook and Ubuntu system. The portable CD/DVD burner cannot play Blu-ray discs or game discs larger than 8.5GB. On Windows 10 or later, it is recommended to install "VLC Media Player" to play DVDs and CDs. For a desktop computer, connect the device to the USB port on the motherboard for normal use. If the USB power supply is not strong enough, use an optional data cable to connect an external power supply. Specifications: USB Interface: USB 3.0 (backwards compatible with USB 2.0.1.0) -> Compatible System: Windows 10, 8.1, 7, Vista, XP, Linux and all versions of Mac OS So what is it? Also, I've seen reviews stating that this thing won't work properly if the USB cable is too long. This leads me to suspect that there are problems with the grounding and power supply.
