If you love garlic, and use it like I do, you need this. In fact, this is my second one bc the first one I had is missing in action, I can't find it and I can't live without it, so I had to order it again. There are times you want whole garlic to slice, so smashing it and having skin removed that way is not ideal. I used to buy the whole peeled garlic in the containers, but I find it inferior, there is a big difference between that and the 'real thing.' Just smash one of those in the container and smash one that is from a whole head of garlic, you can see the juices come out of the whole unpeeled clove, and then cook it and taste it, it takes just a minute on low in a saute pan. It is like night and day. I love cooking and eating and I will not compromise on garlic, I want the real thing, and using this little gizmo is a way I can do that. It's a few dollars, you have nothing to lose.
