Ideal monitor - 2560 x 1440p @ 60Hz for development

I'm a developer, so I write code, surf the web, work with spreadsheets and text all day, sometimes I work in Photoshop. I'm not a gamer at all, so I won't comment on how this monitor performs in games. I'm using Debian on an old Lenovo laptop (T430s) and am using the display port from the monitor to the laptop's mini display port. Let me tell you how happy I am with my purchase. This is a solid monitor with thin bezels, nice picture and design in a 24 inch body. The frame and stand are top-notch in terms of texture, design, and durability. I prefer square monitor stands rather than glossy ones. compared to those that are round and shiny. I know, I know, design and looks are important to me too. This monitor also has real buttons. The keys are tight and don't wobble. Parameter that makes the text more readable. I appreciate the fact that the ViewSonic logo on the front of the screen is black instead of chrome or white so it's not noticeable. I thought ViewSonic chose an intelligent design. The speakers on this monitor are above average. I don't have high hopes for built in monitor speakers in general. I buy a monitor primarily for its picture quality and resolution capabilities. Regardless, I have no problem watching videos or listening to music. I used to have a 27" BenQ with 2560x1 resolution. Resolution 440p. This monitor was fantastic but it was too big for my desk and the text was a bit blurry. Now I use the same resolution on a 24" monitor with the same screen size and the text looks amazingly sharp. the physical size of the monitor but rather the resolution of the monitor which allows you to fit more windows on the screen. it took me 3 monitors to figure this out. also note that the text the smaller becomes the higher the resolution. Basically, sit at arm's length from the monitor screen and find a resolution that works for you. Can you read text or surf the web without eye strain? Then determine which monitor at that resolution offers the best resolution. Of course, there are other factors that you need to consider. Overall, I recommend this monitor for highly recommend the price. Hope this helps people.
