A real pain to assemble but worth it!

I was disappointed with the weak valves of this homemade lamp. It is believed that the central cylinder can be rolled into a tubular shape by attaching it with small plastic tabs that interlock. The plastic of the lugs is too thin to hold the cylinder. Because the plastic sheeting that makes up the cylinder is keen to lie flat, it keeps popping open as the "petals" are inserted into the slots provided. After a few frustrating efforts of just using the tongues and then reinforcing the tongues with tape, I used a sail repair needle to close the cylinder using monofilament as thread. Then it's time to place the "petals" in their slots. Being too soft, the cylinder offers no resistance, so the slightly enlarged ribs that keep each lobe in a curved shape can be pushed through the corresponding notch cut in it. Cylinder. You need to hold the "petal" in its curved position and insert its lugs into the groove firmly enough with one hand while supporting the flexible cylinder with the other hand. If you don't support the cylinder properly, the "petals" already attached will pop back up. It takes a lot longer than you might think to finally put all the "petals" in place. A round disc (with lots of protrusions!) should then be mounted on top of the cylinder to make the cylinder shape as close to a true circle as possible and to hang the bulb from the bulb. Unfortunately, one of those three slots had a "petal" slot just below it. This causes the edges of the "petals" to block the slot. Finally, I made a notch on the round disk's tongue so it could bypass the edges of the "petal" while snapping into place. When the lamp was finally assembled, I was very pleased with how it looked. As other reviewers have said, the lamp looks a lot more expensive than it is. Although the description of the lamp does not say that you need an LED lamp, an incandescent lamp will quickly melt the lamp. If the cylinder were made of a heavier, stiffer plastic, the tabs probably wouldn't reopen as easily. I'd be happy to pay 5€ more for thicker plastic. I'm glad my room only needs one lamp as I'm in no rush to get another one.
