Pretty nice after install. I took the risk and ordered a replacement fan. It has succeeded without too many problems and the results are amazing. I don't recommend this hack if you don't have a remote controlled fan as you could lose your pull chain settings.

I didn't have high expectations for this, but it turned out pretty cool. One thing that's particularly cool is that while the instructions are good and it's quick to assemble, you could probably assemble it differently. My original plan was to get a few of these, make one full size, and then cut out the inner tube of the others to make them smaller. I think it would probably work. However, when I received it, I decided that one was enough. The main thing is that it does not look cheap in limbo.

I was disappointed with the weak valves of this homemade lamp. It is believed that the central cylinder can be rolled into a tubular shape by attaching it with small plastic tabs that interlock. The plastic of the lugs is too thin to hold the cylinder. Because the plastic sheeting that makes up the cylinder is keen to lie flat, it keeps popping open as the "petals" are inserted into the slots provided.
