I got the 1100 watt version - 2 prong electrical outlet, which does not appear to be pictured here at the time of the writing. There does not appear to be temperature control with this device. It's either high or its off. Which is okay for simple cooking (like boiling eggs), but not for something more refined - like melting chocolate.It does give off a funny smell for the first time you use it - but according to the instructions this is normal. It is supposed to only be used indoors. Overall, this is an okay device if you know what you are getting. If you want something more refined, then you can probably get something better. I personally would not use this for regular cooking. Maybe for a dorm room that does not have a kitchen, or maybe for camping, or something temporary if my stove was being worked on.
