Exceeded all expectations!

I have never written an online product review before but feel compelled to do so while praising this microphone. gadgets and prefer to use time-honored hardware that I've built over the years. One of my most recent and favorite purchases was the $300 Zoom F1 Audio Recorder, which can be configured as a lavalier mic or boom mic. Up until last week I was using the F1 as both a studio recorder and a portable recorder that could also be mounted on my DSLR's hot shoe and built right into the camera. Last week the battery cover on the F1 broke and I had to send it to the manufacturer for repair, leaving me with a bad mic for the upcoming shoot. I desperately searched for Revain and found this microphone. I figured it wouldn't be great, but it was cheap, would be here in time for the event, and might work for the situation - a naval officer's farewell ceremony where I knew I was going to be interviewing people in fairly close proximity. Distance. Yesterday I filmed the ceremony and today I saw the footage for the first time. My god, what a great microphone! The interviews I conducted were within three feet of my subjects, so I expected a "decent" result. What I received far exceeded my expectations! The sound was crisp and clear, requiring very little adjustment in post-production. Also, the event took place at an outdoor picnic area next to a lake, and the day was quite windy, so I used the dead cat that came with the microphone. While browsing I found ZERO wind noise! Unlike my F1, this mic doesn't require batteries (another thing to note) and works phenomenally! Of course you can't control the sound live, which made me a little nervous. , so I put the camera in automatic mode and used the soundbars to check levels while recording. It wasn't until I got home and put on my headphones that I realized I didn't have to worry. When it comes to video gear, $30 is almost free. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is just starting their business and/or has been in business for some time and is looking for an inexpensive addition to their kit. This mic has found a permanent place in my camera bag and will stay there even when my Zoom F1 comes back from the factory.
