Only ok for the price. Does what it's supposed to do, so it gets at least 3 stars. After that, however, I couldn't find anything that would mark it as a "good buy". In particular, it lacks 2 features that would make it worthy of its price tag. First, there really needs to be a way to pin your documents in a lightbox. They offer paperclips that really aren't up to the task. A clear glass or acrylic lid, a hinged lid, magnets or maybe sliding bars, there are many ways to do this. Ultimately, it's up to you to find your own solution. I'll probably use very soft tape. Additionally, it could easily use some rechargeable batteries without sacrificing the subtlety of the design. This consumes only 0.25 to 3.15 watts at 5 volts in operation. A battery with a capacity of one ampere hour lasts between 90 minutes and 20 hours, depending on the brightness. They could make this light box just an inch wider and the same thickness, and they could fit half a dozen 602626 lithium cells into that space to provide about 9 watt hours. It will last from 3 to 36 hours of work without charging. The lightbox is easy to use - there is a single button that turns the device on or off, or you can press and hold it to adjust the brightness. There is an LED power indicator but they put it on the back of the unit which makes no sense. You can't see it lit from the front, so not very useful - you have to turn the device over to see if there's power. for practical or demonstration purposes, and some paper clips. Without key features like this, I really don't see how they justify the cost. It's made from very inexpensive components and isn't difficult to make, so a fair price tag would be around $15. If you can't find anything else at a better price or with better features, then that's fine, but it's certainly not exciting and wouldn't be my first choice for a lightbox.
