I have a fetish for nice socks. Uhhh, let me rephrase that; I love high quality socks. I have bought clothing from many leading brands such as Smart Wool, Wigwam, Wrightsock, Thorlo, Drymax, premium offerings from Adidas, Asics, Nike, Brooks, New Balance, REI and many more. Well, Darn Tough is the best. Please don't get me wrong, other models are well and good, but overall Darn Tough is the way to go if you seriously want the best of the best. These Paul Bunyons are top notch when it comes to comfort. and durability, excellent cushioning, dry quickly and keep you warm. One caveat - peeling. These socks are such a pill. I also have a pair of other Darn Tough socks and they hardly slip. I have a pill remover and had to use it every time after the first 3 washes. After that, fortunately, the peeling will pass and you will get wonderful socks. After all, I wear shoes size: 13.0, width 2E, according to Darn Tough I should have taken XL. I chose Large instead and it fits well. I think the socks are a bit big. If your height is 13.5 or larger, choose XL. The big one is definitely too big for tall people: 10-11.5 feet.
