Not OTC - calf or mid-calf at best

They will not rise above the calf unless you have very small and slender legs below the knee. They are calf or mid-calf length at best if you have muscular legs or even average legs. As for the heat, they did the job in 25 degree weather while I was hunting deer. Soft, dense, of medium thickness and not prickly.

Paul Bunyon Most Used Wool Socks

Both these and the Hunter socks have a great fit and are comfortable. The plus size is perfect for my 10.5-11D feet and fits my calves which are medium circumference. My height is 6 feet. I love the Gavel color and am disappointed that only wood was available for Hunter socks in my size. That being said, the Hunter socks have 11% more wool, while the Bunyans have noticeable pilling on the surface, although both socks are new, which I find a bit of an issue. Both come with a lifetime guarantee…

Mens Darn Tough OTC Socks

My husband uses them for work. He loves her. When I first ordered them I thought I would buy a 3 pack otherwise I probably wouldn't have bought them. My husband is from Vermont. These are great socks. They fit the way he wanted, everything about them is perfect EXCEPT the price. To think I paid $27 before tax or whatever for a pair of socks is pretty crazy. I'd love to get him one for warm weather, but I can't bring myself to pay that much for a pair of socks. I'll have to wait and see how…

Ideal for ice fishing or sitting on a stand.

This is my fourth pair of Darn Tough socks in various weights and lengths. I have their warmest sock, a light sock and a sock similar to this one. I personally prefer over-the-counter socks. The thin toe is great but only fits 32 degrees. The warmest pair is really warm, which is too warm for most scenarios. I wanted something more centered, something I could tow an ice hut with or run through the woods without breaking a sweat and something warm to sit on the ice or in the stands all day. For…

ONE SOCK WITHOUT ORIGINAL BOX Dearborn Supply

The price you would pay for a whole pair of socks direct from Darn Tough is listed in Dearborn Supply. This is ONE SOCK in a universal plastic bag. No original packaging, no indication of size etc. I ordered, then sent it back as soon as possible. And to be honest I looked very carefully for the matching name logo and sizing on the original sock and couldn't find it (to be clear Darn Tough support says the name is a dark thread on a dark sock , I searched and couldn't see it). Coupled with the…

BEST socks!

A few months ago I got my son a pair of Dynamite Stripe Light Cushion Gym Socks for his birthday. He serves in the Marine Corps and recently completed a month-long training course that included his company spending a week in the field. They did a lot of long hikes and he wore these socks the first day and found them so COMFORTABLE that he wore them every day for a whole week! Crept through puddles and dripping sweat, the socks held up great! When he returned to base and took them off, he…

Top notch socks but roll a lot in the beginning.

I have a fetish for nice socks. Uhhh, let me rephrase that; I love high quality socks. I have bought clothing from many leading brands such as Smart Wool, Wigwam, Wrightsock, Thorlo, Drymax, premium offerings from Adidas, Asics, Nike, Brooks, New Balance, REI and many more. Well, Darn Tough is the best. Please don't get me wrong, other models are well and good, but overall Darn Tough is the way to go if you seriously want the best of the best. These Paul Bunyons are top notch when it comes to…

Worth the Price: Clothes

It was a bit difficult shelling out that kind of money for a pair of socks, but I was desperate. I work 8-10 hours a day on concrete and my feet always hurt, even in very soft boots. I also wore boot socks for many years when I was in the Navy and wish I had had them then. During a business trip, I didn't have a chance to change my socks for days, and athlete's foot has always been a problem for me. I bet it would have made my life a lot better back then. They breathe well and dry after a long…
