Review on BOSS Audio CH6520 Car Speakers by Sean Flint

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They fit Chevy HHR. Better than original speakers. Easy installation.

Fits my Chevy HHR and sounds better than the original speakers. If you have an HHR, the factory speakers are rubbish and they probably won't work or will eventually fail. I connected them with no problems. I bought the Revain wiring harnesses and mounting brackets for about $24 for all 4. They come with all 4. These are the only parts you will need. If you're about to remove the door panels, you can just use a bungee cord to hold the panel in place and you'll have plenty of room to work. You don't have to remove all devices or unplug any connectors. I left everything attached. I only had to remove 3 T28 screws. And there is a small plastic button that you need to press in the middle with a screwdriver and then it comes out. It's on the side of the door panel where the door opens. 3 T28 screws: one behind the door lock and two in the door handle that you need to pull to close the door when inside the car. Removing the door panels made me nervous. Be sure to start at the bottom and then work your way up the sides. It then simply lifts off as soon as you detach it from the pins. It only pulls out with pins, but you have to press hard and be careful with the plastic. Also, it helped to move around and barely look and then come back. Make sure your bungee is within reach because once you get up, you can't put it down very easily without disconnecting everything. Oh, and don't forget to lower the window before you start so you can swing the bungee through the window opening. Took me about 3-4 hours to build 4 speakers but I fiddled with other things as well and was very careful. Installing the speakers wasn't difficult. Dealing with the door panel is a different story, but it's certainly doable. I used a trim puller to pry the door panel off and it worked like a champ. All work can be completed in 3-4 hours. But if you need a lot of bass or more volume, you should look elsewhere. If you're content with sounding a little better than the factory then this is for you. You just can't beat the price and it's a cut above what you had. It actually sounds very good. To get better, you'll probably need an amp and a different stereo system. Of course it's better than driving without music or with broken speakers. If you wanted this to sound like your last night with ravers or country club girls, you'll be disappointed, but it's good enough for me, so I recommend it.
