A great eco-friendly way to keep moisture and odors under control...

It's already a hot, muggy summer and I'm trying to keep excess humidity under control. In this old house I have to keep the humidity under control. I am very active and constantly monitor humidity levels throughout the season. This home is compliant in all the important areas, and recently I've added humidity control to the list. I will not plug in my large dehumidifiers as I try not to use too much power. Keeping moisture under control is not a very expensive proposition. In winter I constantly add moisture, but in summer it should go away. In winter I use Venta to moisturize and in spring and summer when humidity rises I remove it in a variety of ways. One thing I don't like is mold and mildew, and I don't have any because I'm careful with moisture. Another problem is controlling odors. I have dogs (enough said). With bamboo charcoal bags, I can use them to control and eliminate odors. I use small inexpensive moisture and odor removers that come in a plastic container. However, they contain calcium chloride dihydrate. I can and will recycle them, but not all people take the time to clean them. I've been using charcoal bags for a number of years. These burlap-style air purifier bags are non-toxic and work quite well. They work well in my house because I have pets and I can easily place them around the house. I use them where I need moisture or odor protection. I still have some hooks from the ones I bought earlier but they are not in this set. I'm replacing it with what I already have in my bathroom. They're definitely reusable, so don't throw them away as soon as you decide you no longer need them. Just put it in the sun for about an hour, turning it over from time to time. I love the burlap like material and the fact that I can hang my backpack. I am for functionality and environmental friendliness. I've also used them in my preserves to keep the moisture from ruining the lids. It is a bit expensive for a package, but the decision to buy is made individually.
