Overall I love this product and would recommend the smaller spares for smaller items like hats (haven't tried socks yet). I have knitted a size 8 sweater sleeve as well as some hats and they were very comfortable to work with, beautiful and of good quality. So why not 5 stars? My ChiaGoo Replacement Kit has a much nicer zippered fabric pouch than the Knit Picks. This case is plastic and my smallest and largest needles are far from safe. They fall out regularly and I had to fish them out of my knit bag. Really a cop in this case. The connection between cable and needle can be smoother. I never noticed the connection with my Chia Goo kit, but it was definitely noticeable with the Knit Picks. Nevertheless, a product that I was happy to buy and that I can recommend. UPDATE: 10/10/18 I tried them for socks and unfortunately the cords are too long. Eventually when shorter cords are offered I think they will work fine as the needles seem short enough to work.
