Excellent DECT headset, poor implementation of Bluetooth and over-ear headphones

This is a great headset with range and sound quality. There are a few setbacks that may be a handicap for some. Pros: 1. More range than you'll ever need. They work their way through walls, floors and anything else the average person might encounter. I wore them and walked a few hundred yards to check the mail and didn't have a single pass in the mix.2. The sound quality is excellent. The ultra-wide range sounds remarkably clear. I had a Savi w745 which was great except for the sound quality. It was difficult to understand the person on the other side and impossible when there were other difficulties.3. The noise cancellation works very well. In the other room I had a vacuum running and it didn't pick up any noise at all. 4. The functionality of the dock is excellent. You can combine different connections together and have an indicator on the base when you are in idle mode.5. Simple control with confirmation directly on the headset. The volume up and down button will emit a single beep after each change. When you press the volume button, it shows that the sound is on/off. When turning the sound on/off, the volume of the incoming sound will be reduced. Because of this, it would be much better if they could speed up when it says the sound is on or off, or just change it to a double beep to turn on and a triple beep to turn off so you don't miss anything I said . A sleek docking station that displays battery status and supports fast charging. The docking station has a magnet, making it easy to align and charge. Cons: 1. Bluetooth implementation is really bad. It does this via a USB dongle that your Bluetooth device connects to and then relays that signal to the headset via DECT. The problem is that the Bluetooth connection is always active and always passing the signal, no matter what state the headset is in. As long as my phone is next to the dock, it will connect to the dock. This is a problem because if you use your phone with another Bluetooth device/headset, it will automatically switch to the dock. This means that you suddenly lose the sound, but your phone still shows that everything is working. Savi only sends a signal when the headset is removed from the docking station. This was supposed to be a simple software/firmware update fix, but it hasn't happened yet.2. Update: While I still don't think it's as comfortable as headsets designed specifically to be worn over the ear (hook), I've found that the very narrow shape of the earhook helps keep it in place much better to keep. This has the disadvantage of being uncomfortable (due to tightness) after about an hour of use. Also, you can replace the silicone/rubber ear tip with one that directs sound straight into the ear canal, which I consider a huge improvement. Not only can I turn the volume down to half the volume I used with standard tips, but there's a better seal and makes it easier to understand/hear what's being said. However, you need to be careful about which earbuds you use. Some of them may be too thick and prevent the headset from charging when connected to the docking station. The earhook is not very secure. If you don't move, that's fine, but even if you turn your head, the headset will tip over. If you want a convertible/overlay style I would recommend getting something made specifically for it like the Leitner LH280/LH380 or one of the Savi. Although I had issues with the sound quality with Savi and Leitner, it was similar to Savi.3. Battery life was only around 5-6 hours for me, which is a bit short for some use cases.4. The Bluetooth USB dongle always flashes the blue LED every few seconds regardless of the settings. It doesn't matter if devices are connected or not, the blue LED will always flash every few seconds. In pairing mode, it flashes quickly. It should only flash when pairing as there is already a white LED on the front of the base to show it is in use.

Pros
  • Improve collaboration: Move up to 170 m in height in an office building with a clear line of sight while staying connected to your communication systems
Cons
  • Almost never
