Review on 🕓 Enhance Performance: GE WR9X489 Refrigerator Defrost Control Timer by Duane Barker

My 14 year old GE Profile evaporative coil in the freezer froze and I found the defrost mechanism was not working at all. There are three components - this timer, the defrost thermostat and the defrost heater - and I wasn't sure if that was a bad thing, so I did all three. I got the thermostat locally just because it wasn't available here. If you want you can read my heater review. This timer was easy to replace and was exactly the same as the standard that came out. After replacing this and two other parts, everything worked perfectly, and now the refrigerator is off more than before, on the contrary. This timer will perform a defrost cycle every 16 hours for 35 minutes per cycle. At this point the compressor and fans are off and a glowing heater can be seen inside the freezer. It will turn itself off before 35 minutes has elapsed as it is controlled by a thermostat that snaps onto a coil in the freezer. Either way, a good product works as intended.
