I took a chance because it was more expensive and I've never looked back. Excellent brew. It keeps the tea VERY HOT (DO NOT drink with hot beverages directly from the device, you may scald/burn yourself). Remember that if you drink tea right after brewing, the metal will be hot for hours, just like your tea. So after leaving it open for a while, thinking it had cooled sufficiently (I usually drink tea/coffee very hot), it still stung my lips. Be careful and pour it into a mug. I love this device and have since ordered one for my daughter. I am very happy with this purchase. Can't wait to try it with coffee and cold beer
