Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Azulle Lynk: The Ultimate Multifunctional Remote Control for Windows - Wireless Mouse Touchpad, Backlit Keyboard, Mic by Joshua Mccall

The idea of โ€‹โ€‹this device is excellent, but the implementation is not very good

The idea behind this device is great, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. It connected quickly and worked quickly on my Win 10 computer. Wireless range is good, I've used mine about 20 feet from the computer and over a few walls. However, if you're on the edge of the range it can tend to register a partial press and then become very confusing instead of just skipping taps. Each command after that will be an odd mix of multiple commands. The remote control is uncomfortable to hold due to the sharp edges on the underside of the case. Glossy plastic feels uncomfortable and attracts fingerprints. The front panel buttons are responsive and provide ample feedback when pressed. Feedback is tactile and a fairly loud click. The clicking can be annoying if you have to regularly adjust the volume during a show. The keyboard on the back is soft and gives no feedback. You have to actually press the buttons and check the screen to make sure it registers. It offers all the buttons you need, but don't expect to use it for more than just a word or two. The gyro mouse feature works great when you have a 10ft UI with big targets but forget to use it on a regular UI. Large movements are performed easily and fairly accurately. However, there is a speed dead zone so you can press buttons on the remote without shaking the cursor. This means you have to move the remote above this minimum speed, making it very difficult to make small adjustments. The IR learn function can be mapped to almost any button on the front panel, but its ability to learn depends on the function you select. It didn't work at all with my projector screen's IR remote control. This worked for my projector's "on" button but not for "off". The backlight illuminates the side you're looking at, but automatically switches to the other side when you flip the remote control. You have to turn the backlight off and on again to light the other side.

Pros
  • Hands-free
Cons
  • There are other interesting possibilities.
