I've been trying the filters since I bought them and when I first noticed the dark particles floated up the top of the jug before hitting the filter. I thought it was from my water since we are at the well. I kept using the filter as the particles didn't get through. When I put a new filter in, I immediately had the same problem. This time there was a large number of particles. I thought our fountain was ready to come out or something. Then I realized that I never had this problem when I filled the containers with water. I decided to take a closer look at the particles and it turned out that they came from the filter. I've got two left and if they do the same, I'm done for.
