Review on πŸ“· Sony DSCWX9/BBDL 16.2 MP CMOS Sensor 5x Optical Zoom Digital Camera Bundle Black (Previous Generation) by Bobby Martinez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Amazing - definitely top of the class. (Also the perfect case/sleeve for the DSC-WX9).

This camera is very well made: the camera is heavy for its size; The fit and finish are excellent - it's a precision instrument; Metal battery compartment cover and latch. The DSC-WX9 is very user-friendly. I didn't have to read the instruction manual to take great pictures. The images it takes are just amazing and I don't have to tweak a thousand things. The backlit Exmor CMOS sensor is great. Night shots are great for a digital camera - CCD sensors can't compete with that. Super Auto mode lets you take great pictures. SEE EXAMPLE IMAGES in product description above.* Please note that CCD cameras provide more detailed images (absolute pixel resolution) than back-illuminated CMOS sensor cameras such as the Sony DSC-WX9. However, cameras with a CCD sensor cannot match the fast shutter speeds and low-light performance of cameras with a back-illuminated CMOS sensor. I've had this camera for a couple of weeks now and I'm very satisfied. I looked closely at cameras from Nikon, Cannon, Olympus, Panasonic, Fuji and this class. The only comparable ones for me were Nikon (CMOS) and Panasonic (CCD). Feature by feature, the Sony DSC-WX9 prevailed. The Panasonic 16MP CCD 8x Zoom DMC-F25 was $112.00 cheaper and the Nikon CMOS 14MP 5x Zoom S3100 was $170.00 more expensive. To be honest I kept coming back to Sony and the user reviews were a big reason. I've also read a lot of reviews on photography websites and I've always been won over by Sony. It is important to note that only Sony has HD AVC 1080/60i video capabilities. Nikon and Panasonic film in High Definition MOV 720/24p. Sony HD AVC format is preferred as it is very easy to edit. MOV video files are notoriously difficult to edit. So Sony has clearly emerged as the best value for money for me. I bought this Sony DSC-WX9 to take very important/good pictures of my dog Faith who has advanced liver disease. This camera worked better than I could have imagined! Since I've had the DSC-WX9, we've been going to the park behind my house almost every day to take photos of it and I. I've taken up to 200+ photos at once and haven't "depleted" the battery yet. I am happy to report that we have accumulated a huge amount of great photos. I view photos on my 47" desktop monitor at 1080p and edit them with ACD See Pro 5 and Adobe CS6. Needless to say, I still have a lot to print! Prints up to 11" x 14" look "professional"; seriously, they are that good! In summary, this was the best camera decision/purchase I have ever made. The Sony DSC-WX9 is a LOT of CAMERA in such a small package. It's small enough to always have with you. In addition, excellent images are practically guaranteed and practically fake; especially when you use features like "Super Auto Mode". I'm glad I don't carry around monster DSLRs - no reason! I FOUND THE PERFECT CASE FOR THE DSC-WX9 (it's comfortable, small and easy to access): 9098302 Glove Case, Black Universal Case - Retail Finally, take a look at some example images in the "Product Description" above. I suspect you will be impressed.
