After buying two cans of Shabby Chic's expensive black chalk liquorice paint I gave up as the finish was pretty poor and required multiple coats. So I tried this one and was pleasantly surprised. The paint is very thick and easy to apply. You can buy paint for most things and it dries very quickly. Note that it is VERY chalky and really needs a coat of wax to finish your project. Unlike shabby chic, which can be left as is after varnishing, if you don't want to wax your varnished furniture, don't do it. This is very good value for money.
