🎨 Revamp Your Décor with Deco Art Americana Chalky Finish Paint 8oz in Carbon Shade Review

This may have been an isolated case but it came with a broken seal and leaked all over the packaging. I needed it to complete a project that day so I had to use it or else I would have returned it. It's not very thick either. It took a few coats for a chalky black.

Actually my favorite is Ralph Lauren Suede in Black but it's so expensive. So I started looking for a cheaper alternative. I tried other black marked ones but they still had some shine. This black color has no shine. He's flat.

Made my dining table. It turned out to be outrageous. I just didn't use a wax finish. I applied 3 coats of glossy polyurethane to the top and 2 coats of satin to the legs and chairs. I've had so many Facebook views from friends who recognize my old device. They were amazed. I just ordered more. I will make my kitchen cabinets. Wish me luck. Oh, did I mention I'm 73 and that was a no-brainer.

I used this on an antique oak bedside table which I painted with light gray chalk paint but the dark walnut stain bled through. It covers well with two coats. I love how this color makes my bedside table look like an expensive "pottery shop". I think I'll buy some more and ditch one of my couch nightstands. Everything I paint with chalk paint, I protect it with 3 coats of modern master's matt varnish.

Chalk paint by Annie Sloan is the best in my opinion, but sometimes $37 a liter can be expensive. I had a small painting job for table legs so I ordered this chalk paint. Overall, Annie's color was smoother, but this color worked great. I applied two coats to the legs and sides of my wooden table, they had a nice black matte finish and now it looks like a more modern, new piece of furniture. I like it and recommend it for smaller jobs.

After buying two cans of Shabby Chic's expensive black chalk liquorice paint I gave up as the finish was pretty poor and required multiple coats. So I tried this one and was pleasantly surprised. The paint is very thick and easy to apply. You can buy paint for most things and it dries very quickly. Note that it is VERY chalky and really needs a coat of wax to finish your project. Unlike shabby chic, which can be left as is after varnishing, if you don't want to wax your varnished furniture…
