I am ordering for the 4th time and the 3 previous ones made me happy. When I unpacked this, I immediately noticed with my engineering eye that it looked different. The plastic case is a slightly different design, and things inside have a different look and sound when shaken. I used it anyway and noticed a fishy smell after a few hours. Ultrasonic humidifiers tend to build up nasty things, so I cleaned them thoroughly and disassembled everything except the fan, heater, etc. with white vinegar. it again with a bit of bleach this time. I reassembled it but this time I didn't put a filter in and there was no smell at all. I put the filter in and almost immediately it started smelling bad again so I can safely say it's coming from the filter and not the ultrasonic humidifier. . Due to the difference with the previous filters I had, I believe I received a fake.
