I bought this to clean our dryer's lint pipe that ran through the floor and through the subfloor to the street - the pipe was about 15 feet long so I ran that first out with one end and then again with the other end of the pipe to clean it completely. I was surprised at how much lint was stuck in the pipe and felt better knowing the flow had to be good. If you find that your tumble dryer isn't drying your clothes the way it used to, start by cleaning the machine and vent tube to remove lint. If it's really clogged, you can replace the pipe (the pipe that goes from the dryer to the vent pipe) for about $15, but you still have to clean the inside of the permanent pipe that goes outside. Clogged vent tubes prevent the warm, moist air from inside the dryer from escaping, and in extreme cases have been known to catch fire.
