8-Inch TamBee Heavy Duty T-Strap Black Wrought Iron Shed Hinge Gate Door Barn Hinges Rustproof Hardware Review

We have bought these hinges twice. We have four now on a much heavier wood gate going into a third home on our ranch and they are holding the gate very well. The end strap on the hinge is long enough to wrap a ways around the post. The first set we put on two different lighter weight gates. They were just exactly what the hired men were looking for. They are very pleased with these hinges. They look nice and we picked up a nice handle on ebay that matched them.

I used these on a shed door that I constructed out of pressure treated 1X wood material and 2x4's. It was much heavier than I had guessed when I designed it. I was concerned about standard hinges holding the weight, but these hinges worked perfectly with no sag after a couple of months.

Purchased these for a patio storage box (doors) that i was building. They've been in use, outside in wind, rain and way too much humidity for a few weeks now and, so far, they look and work as good as day one.

Used these hinges for a 48”w x 72”tall fence gate (approx 100lbs) and in securing the hinges to the wood I could start to see the metal deform over the length of the strap portion as if it was not hardened. They are holding currently but I have concerns about longevity due to the soft metal. Not quite sure heavy duty is accurate.

it is good quality and finish, yet one of the pieces came a bit deformed, once afixed it corrected itself. That's my feedback. no big deal

The hinges seem to be of good quality and were what I was expecting. They have been mounted to 4' wide X 7' tall shed doors that are made from 2"x4" framing with 1/2" OSB over the framing and 3/8" siding attached to it. 3 hinges per door. Placement at top, middle, and bottom to distribute the weight load.

Pins don't remove. Also way to much play in them. Had to grind pins and remove and replace them with 5/16 bolts. Cheap madeUpdate The company seen my initial review and contacted me and gave me a full refund. A very good company to do business with. I would not hesitate to do business with them again.

The attached photo is after one week installed. The hinges are good quality. Why did they include such cheap screws. One they strip easy and two they rust immediately. Now I have to clean them up and paint with rust proof paint.One month later.I have had good communication with the seller and they are helping me with this problem

FYI—I may well be the only person who didn’t know this, but 5” includes the strap AND the hinge. It’s not just the strap. SMH Otherwise seems quite sturdy. Nice heavy weight, smooth movement.

Heavily constructed and comes with hardware (not pictured). Reason for 3 stars was they were scratched to hell. Poorly packaged. They could have taken the 5 minutes to put newspaper or at least toilet paper between the hinges to prevent the scratching. Very disappointed in that sense.

I need simple, but strong hinges for a storage coffee table and these fit the bill perfectly. Smooth hinge with no "squeal.”

The hinges were scratched and looked used. Scratches in the paint will lead to rust! Also, the internal packaging (not the ebay packaging) was old, dirty, torn and not even the correct size for the product. They have obviously been returned previously. I gave them two stars because they looked like they would have worked fine if they were new.

Gave 4 because - I'm unsure if they will or won't rust and time will tell how they hold up. I just installed them today. I had heavy doors and planned to put 3 on each door. But, for installation setup, I installed 2 on each door. They supported the doors fine and work well - I may leave the doors with 2 as they are working just fine!

Very sturdy and attractive hinges. Thanks for attention! I have two each on my heavy shed doors and, so far, they haven't sagged a bit. Rugged.

I used these for the shed doors, not very heavy ones. So far they are good. I wish the included screws are a bit longer though. Time will tell how they hold up.

Used only 3 for my 8’ privacy fence gate. Right now they are holding up the gate, but time will tell once they get exposed to weather. The 1” screws that came with it were too short for my taste so I replaced them with #14 2”.

I tried some Home Depot hinges for a gate I made and was trying to hang on a tree house railing. Those hinges were poorly made and allowed the gate to sag. The TamBee t-strap hinges were well made, sturdy, and held the gate straight and level.

Made new doors for my 25 year old shedswitched from a piano hinge that was original to the shed to these.put on 3 per door, very nice construction, Doors are heavy constructed of 2x4 and 2x6 with a concrete board facing. Doors probably weigh around 75# eaNice product and great shipping

When I got these 6 hinges, 3 for each door, they were lighter than I thought I should have bought. They came with a bag of screws about an inch long, which were useless. These doors I mounted them on are 4 ft wide and prob over 80 lbs each. I used 15 3" lag screws on each door and 12 4" lag screws to mount the hinge to the door frame, for a total of 24 4" screws in the door frame and 30 3" screws holding the hinges to the doors. Worked a dream, moves silently and easily. Who knew.

Hinges are nice quality. I ordered (6) 12 inch hinges. Only 5 of them are 12 inch and one of the them is only 10 inches. Bottom right is the short one. Not real noticeable but for the money it should be right.
