These hinges are long enough to wrap a ways around the post and quite heavy!

We have bought these hinges twice. We have four now on a much heavier wood gate going into a third home on our ranch and they are holding the gate very well. The end strap on the hinge is long enough to wrap a ways around the post. The first set we put on two different lighter weight gates. They were just exactly what the hired men were looking for. They are very pleased with these hinges. They look nice and we picked up a nice handle on ebay that matched them.

These doors I built are very heavy and the hinges did the job.

Cons

The hinges may be too large for some doors or gates, making them look unbalanced
