Nice solid net and our macaw is delighted with it.

Seems to be a hit on our Blue & Gold Macaw. He likes to chew on it and move the knots, but so far he seems to have passed the test of being a big bird.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

good network. It smells bad. - Swing

I just got this in the mail. There is a strange smell of petrol or tires as others have said. I rinsed it off with water but that didn't seem to help at all. Otherwise it looks like a good network.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Use as a safety net

Use as a safety net. Our parrot is over 45 years old. Once he fell in the middle of the night and injured his eye. So far it's managed to fall through the poop, although I'm sure they'll get dirty little by little.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • No

Smells Like Gasoline

I was so excited to use this. As soon as the packaging was opened, it smelled of diesel fuel. Aired and done everything possible to remove the smell. That's where the smell lingers. Material is fluffy and poses a choking hazard. Do not buy, not worth your time and money.

Pros
  • Sample for a year
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Imitation bird vine

I believe these nets are imitation bird vines. I use various dowels, ropes, branches and now these nets. This gives the birds good exercise. Make her think. More variety. I'll get more of these again. You can get creative with them and hang other bird play equipment on them.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Not Safe for Birds: Cages and Accessories

I strongly recommend not ordering this product for your birds. Parrots are very sensitive to strong odors and fibers that can enter the digestive system. This product smells very strongly of some chemical and is quite fibrous. I requested a refund and had to throw it away.

Pros
  • Easy to Read Control Panel
Cons
  • Slightly Torn

Cool net, brings the flight cage to life

My newly acquired cockatiels didn't want anything to do with this net (they're not very up and running yet) so I brought it to my parrots in the cage. After a few days of vigilance, they seem to be enjoying the web - hanging upside down and (but apparently not) nibbling on the knots. A fun addition to her scene.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • There are nuances

Budgies love it! for swing

Two of my budgies love this rope net. I have it hanging by the window where the birdhouses are outside. They love to climb on it, hang upside down and watch the birds outside. They like to gnaw at all ends of the rope. There was a gas smell as others have said, but after a day or two out of the bag it's fine.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small house
Cons
  • Durability

Ok, but a bit of security

So I really have mixed feelings about this rope. It's very cool, it's big, and it's a perfect hemp/jute rope and one of the safe ropes for birds to play with. Problem? I'm pretty sure it's been treated with chemicals - they're bad for birds. The rope stinks horribly. I've hand washed many times and it still smells of oil and burner fluid. If you want to use this rope, you need to pass it through a trash can several times to remove the fumes and chemicals from the rope, making it safe for birds…

  • New
