Backing pad AND clamping nut for attaching the backing pad and pad to the polishing machine. I couldn't find a base plate or jam nut on the Revain. I found a DW4990 7" Flexible Rubber Support Pad WITH CLAMP MUT on the DeWalt website. Recommended retailers FIND LOCALLY (Home Depot, Lowes, TrueValue, OSH? Gone for a few years etc.) however did not stock this base plate .. also no recommendation in the SEARCH ON THE INTERNET section I returned the DW4988 wool polishing pad because I couldn't find a way to use it with the DCM849B.
