Why did I wait so long to upgrade my cycling shoes?!?

I confess that the last time I bought cycling shoes was in 2010. This vintage pair was heavy, with two laces and a large velcro strap. I have SPD cleats and have used these shoes primarily for mountain biking. Please note that I am 50 years old. I decided to buy a folding indoor scissor bike for fitness while working from home, and the bike has just a basic, single-strap pedal that uses with any tennis or cross-country shoe can be. So what made me decide to buy these sneakers? Well, my neighbor invited me to try his expensive bike, which is constantly advertised with virtual instructors. But it was about how quickly he could put on and take off his shoes by turning a pair of knobs. So I searched and scrolled through all the options and settled on this pair of black with reflective wavy silver waves from toe to heel. These shoes by twisting the first knob of the drum and it only takes a few clicks and the black wire ensures a comfortable, snug and consistent fit for most shoes. I then twist the spool handle on top to ensure a secure fit around the ankle and shoe hole. The material consists of a synthetic material and a nylon fabric on the inside that ensures comfort. This lightweight shoe offers a more efficient riding experience and has multiple holes in the bottom to allow the sole to breathe. In order for the spike to be screwed in, there is a threaded sliding plate that must be secured. The cleat and sole print is for the peloton but I was able to use my cleats and bring extra MTB BMX pedals. But you can unlace them very quickly! Like Tony Stark leaving the Mark Iron Man armor. I simply pull the spool's handle and the wires immediately come loose. I've waited too long to switch to cycling shoes and I feel like I've gone from a Moto Razer clamshell to an iPhone 12 Pro when it comes to cycling shoe technology. I'm looking for the next update that will hold itself up in Future II just like the high tops Marty wrote in the past.
