If you are reading this you probably drive an S2000 and want to find a way to secure your seats. If not, then this review probably isn't for you. Good day. So you're probably looking for a way to secure your seats without paying more than $60. Unfortunately, these bolts are not a permanent answer for the following two reasons: - They are not designed to be crash tested like OEM bolts - These bolts cannot be tightened enough without the head snapping off. I could rack my brains. directly from the shank (bolt body) by simply tightening the screw by hand. This made me fear that I would not use them for this purpose. (Note: the outside temperature was 40-50 degrees Fahrenheit, but I'm not sure if the transition between ductility and brittleness happens as I don't have material specs. On the other hand, this bolt might just be designed for light duty cycle and temperature doesn't matter at all ). However, it should be noted that only the head broke off at the top, caused by the application of more torque than its rated value. The head did not lift from the shear force that would have been generated by a frontal vehicle impact. Therefore, this incident cannot be a great scientific or technical basis to rely on. Would you still like to take risks in an accident? What to do if a family member is in the front passenger seat? In order for these bolts to secure your seats, you must tighten them just enough that you cannot remove them with pliers. I was able to remove one with a large pair of pliers with little effort. It was because I couldn't tighten them enough to keep the head from breaking off. This should raise a red flag for you. If a thief ever tries to steal your seats, all he or she needs to do is use pliers to remove the screw. So why not just use an adhesive like Loc-Tite to semi-permanently fix the threads in place? In my experience, I wouldn't rely on the head remaining intact with the stock when trying to steal the seats. One can easily use the opposite end of the 3/8" ratchet and bang on the head until it loosens due to its weak connection. When the head comes off, the calipers come loose and you end up having to knock out the bolt part in your car. However, you have plenty of room to work once the seats are gone. I've heard other S2000 drivers use them with no problems, although the heads don't break off.
