Review on NuTone S97017706 Ventilation Motor Assembly by Montez Vazquez

As other reviewers have pointed out, some older models that are being replaced appear to have slightly different cutout sizes that fit into a 2 pin duplex socket fit. Decided to share some photos side by side. In my original setup (stamped "NUTONE, FOR USE WITH MODELS 8814, 8663, 8673") the cutout starts at 59mm on the inside left side when viewed as shown in the photo. In the new assembly, the cut-out starts 64.5 mm from the left side. The assembly will not snap into place as is as the outlet must protrude through the cutout. So I had to cut off a small piece of metal which is shown as a shaded area in the photos. Luckily I had a circular saw, but if you don't have an easy way to cut it, you're in trouble. Apart from that one disadvantage, she seems to be a good substitute for 1-1. PS The unit comes with a motor and fan assembly, but I took it apart for photos and cutting. PPS Also note that the edges of the piece of metal are EXTREMELY sharp in the photos. I got a decent cut just by picking it up so be careful.
