How to attach a latch.

Latch mechanism fails when mounted horizontally. It seems to work fine when installed vertically, but when installed horizontally the locking pin falls out and then doesn't latch. To prevent this, you can install it upside down on a horizontal surface. Bought for outdoor use depending on the weather and rust. The fact that they are made of plastic fits well with this need. Too bad it didn't work in my app.
