Assembled a small frame for my wife's water feature that she designed. She wanted to keep the pump and other electronics out of sight. The door had to work in harmony with this function, so we needed a way to open it without adding a handle. This bar was perfect.

Created a cupboard under the stairs and built a small 1" thick door with a dummy doorknob to match the existing 1st floor doorknobs. Choose these push-to-latch cabinet latches to keep the door closed. One latch was enough to get the job done, but the second latch was installed after a few weeks.

This thing works great if you know how to use it. But if you have visitors who don't know to push, not pull (I installed it in my kitchen cupboard), then even my almost 80-year-old mother-in-law can break it - it opens, but doesn't snap back into place. Now have to buy my 3rd pair as there are no alternatives.

I put them on a base cabinet which the cat kept opening and throwing things on the floor. They worked; he cannot enter; although he's still trying. Haha... They seem strong enough for light to medium doors. They're made of plastic; So I wouldn't recommend them for heavier doors. You can stick them on with sticky pads, but I screwed them on. I don't know if the adhesive will stand up to repeated use.

I don't understand how this lousy piece of iron gets more than 1 star. Watch the video to see what to expect after a few uses. This thing is just useless, unreliable and poorly designed. Even the included screws are of such poor quality that they can be removed with minimal torque and require unnecessarily heavy work to remove. What a waste of time and effort.

Latch mechanism fails when mounted horizontally. It seems to work fine when installed vertically, but when installed horizontally the locking pin falls out and then doesn't latch. To prevent this, you can install it upside down on a horizontal surface. Bought for outdoor use depending on the weather and rust. The fact that they are made of plastic fits well with this need. Too bad it didn't work in my app.
