That's why I decided to give this table to my children (3 and 1 years old) because they can use it in a variety of ways (eating, playing, painting, etc.). I chose this one because of the price and also because I had a lot of experience with Delta in the past. It took about 20 minutes to assemble using a drill (if using one make sure you turn SLOW like slow hand speed!). I read some reviews that parts arrived scratched or slightly scratched. Mine had 0 scratches (perhaps others could use this to remove theirs from the box). I laid mine on the floor making it square and opened it by cutting the sides and opening it like a book (my dad taught me this is the best way to open furniture assembly boxes without damaging the furniture) . It was built into a strong foam with a thin piece of foam on top. I used this flimsy thin styrofoam as a pad when assembling everything (again to avoid damaging it). I did notice that one of the sides of the table might not be fully painted, but there is a tiny area on the side edge at the bottom so no one will see it and that was the only paint issue. (I've also read that this is an issue with many of them, so I'm glad I got a 'better' batch). However, I put too much effort into drilling the screw, which is why one of the chair braces has a small crack in the wood. However, overall it was very easy to put together and my daughter definitely loves it (hope my 1 year old will enjoy it too)
