I was flying across country for a move and used this carrier for my very grumpy and large black cat (large, 10lbs). I expected the worst but surprisingly he loved this carrier! Another reviewer mentioned that cats feel safer in small, enclosed spaces, so I think this works better than a rigid carrier. The zipper makes opening the bag easy, while the outside pocket is handy for storing treats and veterinary certificates needed during the flight. I also thought that this carrier would give the cat enough privacy so she wouldn't get too much unwanted attention that might bother her. It needs to be flattened at the top to fit under an airplane seat (we flew Virgin America on the A319), but that doesn't bother the beast. My big cat could still turn around completely, sit or lie down and we put her favorite toy in the transport box.
