Review on PowerFit Super Slim Multi-Sport Mouthguard - Boost Your Performance with Ultimate Comfort by Issac Burnett

For non-contact sports aka gym/lift, look elsewhere.

I was looking for a thin mouthguard but with a thicker cushion base to protect my teeth and jaw from clenching during strength training and here they are. Priced at $11.75 at the time of purchase, this was a better deal than other thin mouthguards. It seemed to offer adequate protection without being ridiculously thick. Here are a few pros and cons: The cap, when properly placed, STAYS ON THE SCREEN and will not fall off. The fit feels feather light and hugs your teeth and gums snugly. You can even talk to the piece inside, and the best part is, it won't silence you! So far this is the ONLY mouthguard I've tried that hasn't made me vomit - not once. After inserting it into my mouth, it fit perfectly and covered all the way to the edges of my very last molars. As it fits me so well and my mouth is smaller I would say this item runs a bit small. Anyway it was easy to shape as the instructions are clear and easy to follow. However, I made a mistake by ignoring an important instruction in tooth modeling. My error occurred during the incorporation process. You should avoid biting down so hard instinctively, especially if you're sucking on a bite and shaping it over your teeth with your fingers. There is a lot going on during the shaping phase and you MUST remember not to bite too hard or you will damage the molar guard underneath. Biting too hard can even cause you to bite through the mouthguard as the material is so flimsy if you're not careful. I bit down on my JUUUST a little too hard and when I tried it out at the gym today there wasn't even much cushion left to protect my teeth/jaw from clenching. It offered SOME protection, but I think I'll gnaw through them in a few weeks. Overall, this product doesn't offer the best protection for what I need it for. Yes it offers SOME protection but after this one has seen better days I'll be looking for a better one.
