Medium Rat Towel (Sports/Bath) AMAZING! I bought this because I was going to Panama for a few weeks and needed something that would dry quickly in a very humid environment. I bought this rat towel and a Coleman camping towel for my trip and now after Panama I know what the best purchase was. The rat towel was about the size of a regular bath towel, which was more comfortable than the Coleman towel, which was a third the size. As for drying time, the rat towel would dry overnight if I used the towel in the evening, while the Coleman towel took at least two nights to dry and was still damp even then. I was really impressed that the rat cloth dried completely because it was very humid in Panama and I expected it to dry mostly but not completely. The smell of the Coleman camping towel was like burnt marshmallows and turned into an odor very quickly. a burnt marshmallow with mold as the towel never fully dried. I was in Panama for 2 weeks and didn't notice any smell on the rat towel and certainly no noticeable smell of mold. Both the Coleman Towel and the Rat Towel are machine washable (do not use fabric softener) which is useful after travelling. Both the Coleman Towel and the Rat Towel can become very compact and take up very little space, which is a huge plus if you're trying to pack light and smart. Although the Rat Towel is much larger compared to the Coleman Towel, both can be shrunk to ultra-small sizes. The rat towel was thinner and larger, while the Coleman was slightly thicker (like felt) and smaller. Overall, the rat towel exceeded my initial expectations and was a GREAT purchase. I will be ordering a second one for my next trip and also one for my brother who regularly camps with the Boy Scouts.
