Review on 🎧 Pegasus R2R DAC Decoder: Delivering DSD1024 and PCM1536 Audio Excellence with Advanced Connectivity and Filter Technology (Black) by Ashwin Drollinger

My previous DAC was MHDT Orchid. The Pegasus sounds more balanced, with deeper, punchier bass. The mids and highs are also appealing and less colored than the Orchid. I really noticed acoustic flaws in my room that I hadn't noticed before. Don't get me wrong the MHDT which I love and spent a decent amount of money on rolling tubes - it has a nice and attractive presentation with great instrument separation. In my second system with the SET amplifier it sounds great. But the Pegasus is cleaner and allows me to listen and delve deeper into the music experience on my Spendor D7 and Exposure 3010s2d main system. The Pegasus is amazing value and costs less than the orchid that was used. I use Roon for upsampling to DSD 512 over USB, which I think sounds better than native PCM. Haven't heard of a delta sigma DAC at this price point (I don't care) but I think if you're looking for an R2R DAC or just a DAC that goes with the music then this is the one good choice. Musician's customer service is also top notch. I am completely satisfied with Pegasus.
