I am using a 9 pin cable to extend a Logitech 5.1 sound system and the cable works - the sound is great and the controls on the connected speaker work fine. The only downside is that the socket end can't snap to the body of the plug, so the connection isn't physically secure. Since I'm running the cable through a tight space, I had to purchase the correct size studs from my local hardware store to avoid loosening the cable ends during installation. Since the image shown on the product page is correct, I'm only deducting one star. It would be helpful if the manufacturer offered a 2-pin 4-40 1/2 female-to-female version (as shown) so the two mating 9-pin ends of the cable could be physically secured or even included as standard Part of extension cord package.
