Wooden silencer works fine but I ordered a branded sediment. Works as advertised but protein skimmers don't work in fresh water so why put there? Three stars because of the HORRIBLE stench and chemical smell from the suction cups. I removed them because I didn't want them getting into my water and killing my coral. You must have a built in air regulator for this to work. They are very cheap and you can control the amount of air going into the log. Great design but I ordered a larger size than I need so it takes up a lot of space. Good size collection cup. Works well.
