Review on 🌈 ColorSwirl 3 Color Coupler by Wilton, in White by Gelin Battle

This thing. I have a love-hate relationship with ColorSwirl. It's messy, but look at the results! I used it for three batches of cupcakes and on my first batch my bags came off the clutch when compressing and I made the biggest, most messy mess I've ever had. TWICE. In the next two laps I felt a bit better. and by my third batch I was feeling like a pro. At least almost. I bought some sturdy thick bags and a set of Wilton tips which includes "extra large" 1M, 2D and 2A tips. I found that the 2D tip (closed star?) didn't fit and the base diameter is slightly smaller than the others. I have even returned and replaced and the second set is the same - THEN I visited Wilton's own blog and found that they say all of their large nibs are different sizes and they ONLY recommend 1M, 1A, 2C or 4B with ColorSwirl. Spring. ***** So let's summarize. USE ONLY 1M, 1A, 2C or 4B! No other advice is likely to work! ****** ALSO: This makes 16" bags much easier to handle than 12" bags and should be strong bags! It was also painful to use, but the results are worth it. After a few practice sessions and after the icing warmed up with my body heat, it got easier! I'm not the best icing decorator in the world as you can see from my photos, but the results are pretty cool nonetheless. Here are a few advantages over nesting bags (google "striped pastry bag" if you don't know what I mean). The results are more consistent and consistent, and you can refill the bags as many times as you like and your colors won't get messy in the bag. There is no chance of messing up your sculpted curls. It's tricky and sloppy at first, but it's not too hard to get the hang of, so I really like it. I won't use it every time I decorate cupcakes, but it's a lovely pretty treat.
