I did a little research and decided to drop Energy Susp for a reason. You have not reused the jack. I couldn't understand why anyone would want to reuse the sleeve until it was time to put it in. Now I understand why. I'm pretty good at mechanics. I think you should have the right tools for the job, but this sleeve just wasn't possible. I found out about this when I removed similar bushings from the upper wishbones. Hours more than two days off and so on and I ended up having to cut them out with a saw and try not to buy a lever (failed). When it came time to do so, it became obvious why the other company designed their hub to be able to hold the hub. Ease of installation. Pulling out the bushing (rubber) is murder. I rented a ball joint press with a 4WD add-on and couldn't get this thing to work. I decided to use a flashlight and heat the outside of the control lever where the rubber was until the rubber boils or bubbles and then pushes it out. This left me with about 1/8 inch of rubber around the inside of the sleeve. He was determined to stay there. I heated it up and cleaned it with a butter knife and then bought a new wire brush for my drill for $2.99 port freight and it was sparkling clean in 1 minute. I ordered the energy suspension bushings same day and they went in so easily. If you are able to pull the jack and know how to use the tool then this is a GREAT 5 star jack. There's nothing wrong. I just wanted to take the path of least resistance. Oh yeah. I ride a 1997 4Runner with 1/2 million miles and this is my first bushing change. They weren't even bad. I wanted to change all the suspension components to get a million miles.
