This is excellent value for money

This is excellent value for money. It is very durable with a sturdy frame and hose reel that can be floor, wall or ceiling installed. I used 3/8" x 1-1/2" screws and washers to attach it to the bottom of the shelf (using 2x4) just above my compressor. When installing, leave a gap of about two inches between the edge of the reel and the floor/wall/ceiling to give the hose a little more room. After reading the instructions, I thought that I would have to do a lot of settings and adjustments. for the device to function properly. Not so! After I installed the device and connected it to the compressor, it worked flawlessly from the start without any adjustments. The recoil spring tension was set at the factory and worked great on the first try. One thing that is a little tricky is connecting the hose between the drum and your compressor. The unit comes with a 50ft hose reel fitted but does NOT come with a connecting hose so you will need to provide your own. I ordered a matching 3ft Goodyear hose because my compressor was close to the drum. If it's far away, you may need a longer hose. The reason I say it's hard has more to do with the physics than the hardware itself. If you screw the hose into either the end of the compressor or the reel fitting, it's not a problem, BUT now you have to screw the other end of the hose to another device. As you start twisting the hose, it twists tighter and tighter into a knot until you end up with an unusable mass of rubber hose. Not good. There are probably fittings that allow the hose to be tightened without twisting, but there are other ways. Simply twist the hose 3-4 times in the opposite direction you will be screwing it in. So when you tighten the hose fitting, it unwinds the twists previously made in the hose. It may take a few tries, but eventually you should be able to attach both ends of the tubing without twisting. As for the reel, the main hose unwinds easily without pinching or twisting and the guide rollers keep it in the right position. Guide rollers allow you to pull the hose at any angle up to 90 degrees in any direction. The fixation of the hose when undressing takes some getting used to. There are three "clicks" for every half turn or so, so you need time to stop pulling right after the first click or two, otherwise if you go too far after the third click, it won't snap and you need to make another half turn and try again. It's pretty easy after a little practice. To release the hose and allow the device to roll it up, simply pull down slightly and let it begin to retract. It is recommended not to let the hose fly back at high speed, but to slow it down. a little with the hand while it withdraws. I haven't installed the unit in a very long time, but tonight I pulled out hose every 50 feet to blow out every smoke detector in the house. This was easily accomplished by having the reel keep the hose fully extended while I did my job. After that, with a little tugging and some guidance, the hose could easily be spooled cleanly back onto the reel. GOOD! If anything changes I'll update this review, but for now I'm pretty happy with my purchase.
