Review on illy X1 Espresso Machine - Compact Black Coffee Maker, 13 x 9.8 x 10.60 Inches by David Angelboy

I really like this machine, it makes amazing espresso and froths milk very well. However, I'm on my 3rd car in 3 years. They work fine for about 14 months (or 500 cups) and then fail for various reasons. The boiler died first and being an engineer I tried to replace it and was able to use it for another month before the pump died. The second worked for about 14 months, until the pump just stopped working. Now there is no hot water. So I'm on my 3rd and last one now. I can't justify buying a fourth one, so I'm looking for an alternative if this one fails. If you consider that the machine costs around $500 and makes 500 cups, then the machine costs $1 per cup and the espresso requires two capsules, so that's an additional $2 per cup. So with this machine, you pay $3 for an espresso that you have to make yourself at home. I absolutely don't love this thing for the coffee it makes. I can buy an espresso of the same or better quality on the street for $2, the only downside is that I have to get dressed first.
