Hot jet/mist for bath faucets and shower heads

I bought this shower head to save water by reducing the flow rate and also to save energy. My shower does not have a flow valve, only a hot/cold water setting. I wasn't happy with this shower head and feel the packaging doesn't describe the stream/mist it produces which I will address below. Installation was easy enough, but they didn't include Teflon tape, which would have been handy for an extra penny or so for each package. Thank you Delta Upon installation I was surprised to see a jet of mist and air that seemed to cool me down and didn't get too wet either. I had to turn up the temperature of the water, but then it felt like the water was almost burning me on contact, yet overall I felt warm enough. After the shower I almost felt scalded. It's almost like taking a shower with a pressure washer, which is great for washing away dirt and debris, but not relaxing. And as mentioned earlier, the misty stream it creates moves a lot of air and cools the water (as well as warms the air). This means that you expend a lot of energy to heat the air. Worse still, the water sprayed this way doesn't create much runoff and is more like a "wet" than a shower. This is great for a car wash for blasting with little water, but not suitable for soft rinsing. I'm not saying it can't be a desirable spray. Some like the misty jet over a bubbly shower jet at a low speed of 1.5 GPM. However, I give 3 stars because the packaging is not very accurate. I have a feeling this isn't a copious spray, but a misty explosion. Also, you may need to turn on the hot water to allow for a warm shower, as opposed to a regular shower jet which doesn't heat the air as much and cool the water. Finally, it's not a 2.5 GPM feel, but more of a 1 GPM feel at 1.5 GPM in terms of feeling wet and draining water. If you're interested, give it a try and see if you like it. Not me. I am currently using a 2.5 GPM Aquadyne shower head and have only tightened it which seemed to be squeezing the water saver. This seemed to reduce the flow rate and I got a nice gentle spray.
