Less than a week after receiving my baby pillow I had a terrible accident. I was hit with a T-Bone on a freeway overpass by an idiot running away. My car went out of control, hit a guard rail multiple times and nearly rolled over a 50 foot overpass before collapsing and eventually coming to a stop. still attached to the booster harness*** and happily smiling and wagging his tail like he just got on a fun rollercoaster! It didn't have a scratch. There wasn't even a bruise. My Scion TC was broken, the axle and wheels were even torn off. All airbags deployed. Gustav was strapped into the *front* seat bolster. What happened was that the booster box protected my dog from the airbags and the attached harness prevented my dog from getting in the car or through the windshield. He jumped into the back seat after the car stopped. One of the CHP officers present at the scene told me that there was no way my dog would have survived this accident without a seat and harness. He said he saw a lot of dead dogs. I'm crying now because I'm playing with Gustav, not to cremate him. As for me, I left with bruises and torn ligaments. I just need a walker and a cane to get around for a month or two and I'll be fine. Oh, and the booster wasn't damaged, so I can keep using it when I can drive again. I love Gustav very much. Thanks to the people of Kurgo for saving him. Thank you, thank you, thank you and God bless! ********** Edit October 29, 2018: I read another review where someone mentioned that Kurgo's product failed a vehicle safety test. I checked and the statement is correct. However, in 2015, a test by the nonprofit Center for Pet Safety (CPS) was conducted on a Kurgo Wander carrier attached to the back seat of a pet carrier. I cannot speak for the transport in question. All I can say is that this Kurgo product saved my dog's life. What I missed previously is that both the CHP officer on site and the doctor who examined me were so impressed with the booster seat that they turned to the brand to purchase a seat for their dogs.
