Review on Foldology Origami ๐Ÿงฉ Puzzles: A Hands-on Challenge by Marvin Nadeau

Great Puzzle: Puzzles

This is a great little puzzle game (small, not hard). I love origami and have played similar puzzles including Brainwright's Manifold, ThinkFun's Color Fold, and Fat Brain Toys' Fold. This game is very similar to Manifold. I haven't solved problem 100 in the manifold (or the previous 10 problems), but I've solved problem 100 in foldology (but I've moved on to problem 100 of 31). My assessment is that the convolution is simpler but of better quality and more satisfying than the manifold. The sections of images you are asked to piece together make the goal very clear, and these images make the puzzle easier and more enjoyable than a manifold. . I think that makes the puzzle more accessible to a wider audience. My dad used to play around with Manifold, and while he seemed to have a general understanding of what to do, I think he would have enjoyed assembling images more in Foldology. The 4 inch squares are smaller than regular origami paper (6 inches) but that makes it great for portability. You don't really need a flat surface to fold or crease, and you can play around with jigsaw puzzles on the couch, in the car, etc. The quality of the paper holds up well to the required number of folds. While playing Challenge 100, I noticed pinpoint-sized holes in the middle, but that didn't stop me from completing the puzzle. This is in contrast to Manifold, where as I struggled to complete the final tasks, much larger tears appeared. With 100 tasks this has great play value for the price and could make a unique gift for origami lovers or anyone who likes to be mentally stimulated. Activity and/or some manual dexterity practice.
