To be honest I'd love to have a pair of Five Fingers but at double the price they just don't fit my budget. So I got it as a "consolation prize". While my main reason for wanting the 5-Fingers was for a more true barefoot experience and a more flexible shoe (and no arch support I think) for walking on sand, rock, training, cycling and hiking routes, I've been quite impressed with Phil so far .2 quirks off the bat are putting your finger next to your thumb so it goes where it's supposed to and provides arch support. It took a while for the sock to get on track, but once it's there it's cool. The arch support just felt weird and can inflate the arch area if you go for a decent walk right away. I'm hoping this will lessen as I break them down and get used to them, so for now I won't be taking points until they get a fair chance. Great when the toes have a lot of freedom of movement and a pair of shoes doesn't shrink. your legs. I would definitely watch my toenails (sounds weird but I think with these shoes they only get in the way when putting them on or wearing the inner material). Overall, the material and overall shoes feel well made and durable, and the soles are stiff and durable. In my case it might be better than 5 toe shoes since I walk through a lot of rocks and wooden beds when traveling at the beach and parks. , forest trails, etc. with many areas of uneven or sharp ground. Overall I really like them but the bow might be my only issue and depending on how it falls off or is taken care of there can be a difference between 5 stars or 3 - lose 1 star for a slight annoyance, 2 if it doesn't disappears and causes pain, abrasions or blisters. I'll probably update in a few months but can't really get how well they work until spring and are useful on the trails (too much snow at the moment).
