The covers are nice and comfortable, so you don't have to worry about anything.

I was reluctant to buy MORE FOOD just for the kid and figured I could just use a fork and knife to cut his food but it's a lot easier with these scissors to keep up with his prodigious appetite and speed of eating. No more trying to cut slippery pasta! I keep one pair in the kitchen at home and the other in my bag when we go out. The covers are nice and thick so you don't have to worry about accidentally cutting yourself as they might fall off.
