We use our Instant Pot Duo Plus a lot. This suggests that it is often removed. During the lifetime of the device (we have been using it conscientiously for more than 2 years) we have had very few problems. But just that weekend, when I turned on the dishwasher, I "just had a feeling" that something was wrong. I opened it and was greeted with the smell of melting plastic. Let me tell you that the OEM steam valve is designed for heavy-duty applications. It's designed to have boiling steam pour through it! However, it served its purpose on the heating coil of our dishwasher's "heat drying" program. I rushed to order a replacement as we wanted to make instant pot miracles (InstaPot Mac N Cheese, Pho, and Chicken Filet are all on the weekly menu). ) and found this beauty. It fits perfectly and I love the rubber grommet that keeps it on the lid of our Duo Plus, maybe better than the original! See comparisons below.
