Bought in 3T and XS for my large 2YO and small 6YO. Easily pulls over pants and if they use the velcro at the bottom it seems to work well to keep legs and pants dry. The XS is quite large for a 6 year old (42 lbs, 19 inches, waist, 46 inches, height). They stay on the legs when wearing the pants but are long in the inseam so when the velcro is not in use they drag on the floor and are already showing wear on the cuffs. The point was to buy something to grow into and it looks like they will last a couple of seasons, at least with the right soil care. The 3T is just a little big for the 2YO (33lbs, 19in waist, 38in height). . In winter boots, they don't even drag on the ground. They're unlikely to wear out as a result, but honestly, that's not expected of 2YO anyway. They're still growing too fast.
